GCL to sell MV GCL Mahanadi to ArcelorMittal

Global Chartering Limited (GCL) has sold its dry cargo baby Cape vessel GCL Mahanadi to ArcelorMittal. The sale will support ArcelorMittal’s expansion plans in Liberia. Upon delivery to ArcelorMittal, the vessel will undergo a comprehensive conversion process to transform it into a transhipper, a specialised vessel designed to transfer cargo between ships at sea. “We are pleased to support ArcelorMittal’s growth in Liberia through the sale of the MV GCL Mahanadi,” said Yannis Haramis, CEO. “This transaction aligns with our commitment to providing innovative solutions to the global shipping industry.”

ArcelorMittal’s expansion in Liberia is a significant development for the country’s economy and will create new jobs and opportunities. The conversion of MV GCL Mahanadi into a transhipper will further enhance the efficiency and sustainability of ArcelorMittal’s operations in the region.
