New Partnership Between Global Chartering and Sekavin in Collaboration for Bunker Trading
Global Chartering Limited and Sekavin have announced a new partnership aimed at enhancing their bunker trading operations. This collaboration is set to leverage the strengths of both companies to provide integrated solutions in global shipping.
Global Chartering Limited has been improving its services with planned dry-dockings, advanced coatings, slower vessel speeds, and dedicated shore power solutions. These initiatives reflect the company’s commitment to efficiency and sustainability.
Sekavin, established in 1979 by the Sifis Vardinoyiannis Group, has grown into a major player in the shipping industry, offering worldwide bunker and lubricant solutions.
Global Chartering CEO Yannis Haramis emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating, “This partnership reflects the natural synergies between our businesses and the increasing need for integrated solutions in global shipping.”
The joint venture will see Global Chartering’s fleet of about 40 bulkers, ranging from ultramaxes to capesizes, gain access to Sekavin’s worldwide network. This network spans approximately 400 ports and 200 suppliers.
Initially, the partnership will focus on key strategic bunkering locations with plans to expand as market demands and sustainability initiatives evolve. The collaboration is expected to extend beyond traditional marine fuels.
Both companies are committed to exploring new approaches for alternative fuels and emissions reduction. As Haramis noted, “We are excited about this opportunity to innovate within our industry.”
Sekavin CEO Sifis Vardinoyannis echoed these sentiments, highlighting that this alliance marks a significant step towards more sustainable practices in maritime operations.
